I guess that our bamboo nappies are what put Littlelamb on the map. We sell more of these nappies than anything else and it is not hard to see why.
The fit has been altered again and again until we now know that we have the best fitting nappy on the market.
Having six babies in washables over the years means that we know what to look for. The leg has to be tight enough to prevent leaks but not too tight to create any chaffing.
We import from America the softest elastic available that is gentle on baby’s skin but is robust enough to last.
The nappy is designed to stand up to wear and tear you wouldn’t believe a baby capable of.
The leg has a shaped gusset to allow for freedom of movement. The back seam is gently elasticated to prevent any nappy explosions and the front has cross over tabs to grow with your baby's ever changing shape. The rise is now slightly deeper than previous versions as a nappy cannot do it's job properly if baby has a "builders bottom”.
We were one of the first companies to discover that bamboo was an excellent absorbant fibre for nappies but when woven it tends to shrink. After a long search we found a mill that would knit, rather than weave, the yarn onto a fine mesh foundation creating a non-shrink, non- pull fabric. If you pull a loose thread on a towel it will run - pull a thread on a Littlelamb nappy and the pile locks firmly into place.
It's the attention to detail that makes our nappies superior.
If you cut the nappy open you will find an internal fleecy booster. We found that using fleece instead of bamboo means you get a faster drying nappy as the fleece almost spins dry in the washer.
The nappies come complete with a double layer bamboo booster. The booster is sewn onto the size 2's but comes loose with the size 1 nappy as customer feedback suggested new borns didn't need the extra absorption and the bulk on a tiny baby was getting in the way.
Caring for the nappies is simple. At change time as you open the nappy fold the Velcro tabs back over on themselves. Remove any liner - if used - and put the nappy in a dry bucket. When you have a load wash the nappies, washable liners and wraps all together at 30˚ to 40˚ with half the detergent manufacturers recommended amount. Line dry or a cool tumble is fine.

A guide to the different fabrics Littlelamb produce...
COTTON NAPPIES are the great all rounder. They're robust, will last successive babies and have good absorption. All our organic cottons carry GOTS certification. With careful laundering they should last 3-4 babies.
BAMBOO NAPPIES are more absorbent than cotton enabling us to make a slimmer nappy whilst still keeping good absorption. They are also so, so silky and soft and with careful laundering will last two babies.
MICROFIBRE NAPPIES are made from polyester fleece and are the quick-dry nappies of the washable world. Like a fleece jumper they come out of the washer almost dry. With careful laundering they should last three babies.
POCKET NAPPIES are made from a combination of Oeko-tex bamboo, polyknit and microfleece fabrics - giving you the ultimate fabric nappy. With careful laundering they will see you through to potty training.
